Some guy with a band with a new album that is pretty good, talking at SXSW. Here’s a link to the original page.

It was fun, but it was definitely more of a learning experience than one of good design.

It’s nice to come across something electronic that feels right. To sell Vector Lovers short.. I’d say it sounds like a cross between more ambient Aphex Twin meets Air abut the time of their first album. Mellow layered stuff.
It makes me want to go watch Osamu Tezuka’s Metropolis or maybe go through all of the Ghost in the Shell material I can find.

Here is Stephin Merritt’s entry for NPR’s “Project Song” section of the “All Songs Considered” program:
Stephin Merritt - A Man of a Million Faces
He’s ridiculously humble to the point of self-deprecation and partial truth by saying that he would have done more with the song if given more time.
The new Magnetic Fields album sounds nice after a few listens through.
I’m ready to see them, but I have to wait until March.
